For "Star Wars" fans who are looking for love in Alderaan places, Ryan Glitch has a solution: sci-fi speed-dating, which he hosts at Comic-Cons around the country. In five years of geek speed-dating, the events have led to couples who are dating seriously; 43 couples who are currently engaged; and 74 couples who have tied the knot. Glitch, now 29, was single when he starting hosting the speed-dating events five years ago. There was another con coming up, so he suggested a speed-dating event.

Sarah and Shane first met at a Comic-Con Speed Dating event, and their love for movies, Doctor Who , and puppets brought them together. They got married at the Scotia Cinema in New York, where guests were greeted with popcorn and 3D glasses, and then peppered with trivia questions about the couple's relationship. Shane, a comic book illustrator, designed the wedding program himself. I said the same exact thing the second I saw that picture.

I had the pleasure of attending the San Diego Comic-Con. I was invited to moderate a NASA panel on exoplanets, with the twist of looking at them through the lens of science fiction. How do the planets we discovery compare to those seen in Star Trek , Stargate , and so on? So no graphics, nothing but their own voice and enthusiasm. That sounded like a lot of fun, and I love the Exchange, so I agreed immediately.
